    Role Definition

    Works closely with operations and product managers for automated manufacturing systems, manufacturing processes and product engineering to ensure common goals in support of product group objectives.

    Responsibilities
    • Managing a team of 8-10 Manufacturing Engineers in support of Fuel Systems component manufacturing, including precision machining. (Turning, milling, deburr, grinding, super finish and other specialty processes)
    • Overseeing programs and practices for hiring, performance management and developing/training the personnel that perform and support the plant operating functions.
    • Leading assembly, manufacturing processing, cost estimating, systems planning, layout, standards, releasing, gaging, and checking equipment, tooling, and work standards.
    • Managing development, implementation and continual improvement of the operating methods, equipment, systems, and other operating infrastructure used to realize operating goals and objectives.
    • Coordinating release dates and availability of machines, equipment, and material schedules to satisfy demand. Ensuring implementation of modern technology and verifies the effectiveness of equipment and systems.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (i.e Engineering, Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, or Robotics) or progressive engineering or manufacturing experience can replace education requirements.
    • Extensive experience collaborating with multiple functional groups.
    • Extensive experience coaching engineering professionals (entry-level and experienced).
    • Experience in an automation or precision machining environment.
    • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Working knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
    • Lean Manufacturing: Extensive experience using the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
    • Manufacturing Processes: Expert using existing product manufacturing methods, technologies, and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
    • Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Extensive experience using organizational standards, procedures, and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
