    Job Description Qualifications:

    Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineers (Associate and Mid-Level) to join the Flight Systems Engineering Capability in Berkeley, MO (St.

    Louis region).

    These roles will support new product design, development, integration and flight test supporting the areas of guidance, modeling and simulation, flight control and subsystem control for multiple fixed wing aircraft, including T-7A and derivatives, MQ-25, F-15 EX and proprietary programs.

    Flight engineers are essential to the development, safety and success of our products and solutions.

    Each day, they go above and beyond to meet our customers' overall mission requirements-from initial vehicle concept definition through design, test, validation and in-service support.

    Your expertise in areas such as Aerodynamics; Propulsion; Guidance, Navigation & Control; and Loads & Dynamics will drive the future of aerospace.

    Would you be interested in working on an aircraft carrier to support the unmanned aerial-refueling MQ-25 vehicle? Or flight testing of prototype and production manned and unmanned vehicles? How about creating and running state-of-the-art vehicle simulations of the T-7 Redhawk and supporting flight and ground tests to verify predicted vehicle performance? Or working on teams developing the next generation of tactical aircraft?     The Flight Systems Engineering Capability is an exciting organization in Boeing Defense, Space & Security responsible for performing Flight Engineering across a large portfolio of products and development programs.

    Product areas within the Flight Systems Capability in the St. Louis/St. Charles region include Fighter Aircraft, Unmanned Aircraft, and Missiles/Weapons Systems.

    Louis region is continuing to grow, and Flight Engineering is looking for motivated, talented engineers to join the Boeing team on the exciting programs located in this region.

    Selected candidates will work a wide range of programs that will require design, analysis and testing in Flight disciplines to meet our customers' requirements.

    Position Responsibilities:


    Assist in defining Guidance, Navigation and Control mission requirements and ensure requirements traceability and quality from the system level to component levelUse multidisciplinary model data (aero, mass properties, propulsion, etc.) to develop and refine a complex, nonlinear, 6 degrees of freedom simulation modelSupport design of flight control laws using modern linear control design techniques and tools to achieve design and performance targetsUse advanced nonlinear analysis to assess and refine the control law designPerform model validation against test data to inform and improve the accuracy of the simulation environmentDevelop supplementary controllers, limiters, mode logic, and signal shaping to properly bound the performance within all areas of the flight envelopeWork with flight simulation and Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) software engineers to incorporate control laws into the operational flight programSupport flight simulations, hardware in the loop testing, and flight testingParticipate in design reviews, analyses, simulations and component/system testing to ensure delivery of products that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectationsThis position is expected to be 100% onsite.

    The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science1+ year of experience in an engineering role (or a Master's degree)

    Experience with Guidance Navigation and Control engineeringExperience using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX to model systems.

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Active U.S.

    Security ClearanceExperience with simulation, system and component modelingExperience with implementing algorithms in real time systemsHardware in the Loop Simulator (HILS) experiencePrior experience in flight test supportTypical Education / Experience:

    Associate (Level 2):Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.

    Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.

    Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
