    Avera is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Occupational Health Team


    Position Highlights:
    ~ Paid Time Off (PTO) available on Day 1

    Student Loan Repayment:

    This position may be eligible for Avera's Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps you pay off your loans and save money.

    Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster.

    Job Summary
    Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
    Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population of patients in the department.

    Promotes health and safety practices, delivers health and safety programs and services that help prevent illness, injury and environmental hazards inside organizations and within a clinic setting.

    Counsels employees on health and wellness.
    Works with employers to ensure compliance with regulations for workplace safety.
    Works with employers to develop and provide innovative and business-compatible health and safety programs in work environments.
    Education and/or Experience
    Two year RN degree with 3 years experience having worked in the Occupational Health or related field required.
    Bachelor's degree and Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse preferred.
    Three years previous experience in medical, emergency, surgical, pediatric or occupational health nursing required.

    Duties require intensive knowledge of a highly specialized field and broad knowledge of major Occupational Health functions or activities.

    Must be competent in phlebotomy skills.
    Licensure/Certification/Registration
    Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Dakota.
    Basic Life Support certification is mandatory within one month of employment.
    Certifications in the following required: Breath Alcohol Technician, Drug Screen Collections within one month of employment.
    CAOHC, Spirometry, and ergonomic certifications may be required within one year of employment.
    Work Schedule
    Varied Shifts: 8:00am-4:30pm, and 9:00am-4:00pm; 80 hours every 2 weeks
    Every fourth weekend
    Occasional holidays
