    Director of Engineering

    Position Summary:

    The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for supporting mechanical, electrical, and electronic activities in QC, R&D and Engineering departments such performance tests, prototype assembly, fixturing, incoming inspection and RMAs from customers to verify the parts meet Plastomatic quality standards and specifications.

    Essential Functions:
    • Will use inspection tools such as: Verniers, Calipers, Micrometers, Pin-Gauges, Gauge Blocks.
    • Responsible for verifying calibration of hand tools, (Calipers, Verniers, micrometers, height gages, indicators), to NIST traceable standards.
    • Perform First Article and In-Process Inspections on machined and molded parts.
    • Create/update Inspection Data Sheets as required.
    • Create/update Procedures and Work Instructions as needed.
    • Assist with compiling the monthly Quality Metrics.
    • Perform incoming inspection on supplier components/material.
    • Evaluate and document the Return Material Authorization (RMA) valves from customers.
    • Use company IT to log and document Non-Conformances, follow-up on Corrective Actions and maintain the Equipment Maintenance and Calibration Database.
    • Perform Hi-Pot testing/Functional Testing including following all safety procedures.
    • Assist with creating tooling and fixtures.
    • Support Engineering team with prototype assemblies and performance tests.
    • Help solving issues in assembly lines.
    • Maintain logs of componentry and inventory.
    • Assist with Internal Audits of our Quality Management System.
    • Follow all safety guidelines as outlined in the company safety manual.
    • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
    Skills/Qualifications:
    • High school or GED required. Technical school is preferable but not required.
    • Two years of proven experience working in a technical environment, preferably in a manufacturing company.
    • Good mechanical skills.
    • General understanding and interpretation of blueprints.
    • Experience with CNC, lathe, milling machining is desirable but not required.
    • Proficiency with the complete Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Analytical mind with good math and technical abilities.
    • Eager to learn and be trained in new skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Teamwork attitude.
    • Able to work in a highly motivated and multicultural environment.
