Job Title: Product Pre-Cleaner
Department: Equipment Production
Reports to: Equipment Production Supervisor
Location: 4 Sunshine Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174
Work Schedule: Full-time in a production environment
Job Overview: You'll be part of the leading experts in the environment that pride themselves on grit, integrity, ownership, and innovation. Germfree prides itself on engineering and developing innovative solutions that make an impact in the real world. You will pre-clean, deburr, and polish equipment prior to assembly.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Pre-clean equipment received from suppliers
- Remove burrs from metal working to ensure no sharp edges
- Clean and remove coloration from weld spots
- Preparation and installation of gaskets
- Perform final cleaning of finished product in preparation for shipping
- Crosstrain with other areas as requested
- Assist in other areas of production as requested
- Other reasonably-related duties
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Professional manner
- Ability to operate basic hand and power tools, as well as a hand jack
- Physical abilities: hearing; seeing; lifting, pushing and pulling between 50-75 pounds; crouching; bending; twisting; kneeling; squatting; crawling; walking; standing for long periods; reaching in all directions; balancing; holding, grasping and manipulating very small objects; hand/eye coordination; use safety ladder; climbing; tolerate varying ranges of temperature in a Shop environment.
- Good oral communication skills
- Basic reading and comprehension skills; ability to write legibly
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Detailed and quality results-oriented
- Ability to learn to use and read measuring instruments accurately (velocity meter, photometer, tape measure)
- Awareness of general safety principles in a Shop environment
- Reliable transportation to work
- Ability to complete tasks working with others and independently
- Work overtime as required
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Active Driver's License helpful
Education and Experience:
- High School/GED
- Working knowledge of construction, assembly procedures, and understanding engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of basic math and 10-key calculator use to add, subtract, divide, multiply and figure percentages.
- 0-2 years' relevant experience, depending on the level of job functions.
Supervision Required: Medium- Ability to work independently or with others to complete tasks on schedule.
