Job Summary
    The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for leading the firm's technology, information security, data engineering, and business intelligence functions, establishing the firm's strategic technology direction, and managing the firm's environment of systems, business applications and tools for internal and external client use. This is a highly influential and impactful role where collaboration is essential to success. Working with firm leadership, the CTO will define and implement technology strategies across our environment to ensure that the teams, technology, and systems are able to deliver on the firm's promises. We seek an exceptional people-focused executive with broad, hands-on technical skills who will inspire and develop employees and create a great work environment where the best come to work and stay. Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including the innovation team to ensure that all firm wide initiatives are being supported. Essential Functions
    • Inspire and lead the technology organization, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation to deliver best-in-class technology solutions to internal and external clients.
    • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies, evaluating their potential impact on the firm's operations, and making recommendations for adoption.
    • Support technology-related innovation initiatives and projects, leveraging industry best practices and identifying opportunities to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Establish solution and infrastructure priorities in conjunction with firm leadership.
    • Refine and execute the firm's near-term and long-term technology infrastructure, security, and application strategy.
    • Collaborate with firm leadership to establish solution and infrastructure priorities aligned with the firm's strategic objectives.
    • Conduct research and perform cost-benefit analyses on leading-edge technologies, making informed recommendations to improve the firm's technology capabilities.
    • Oversee the firm's infrastructure, security, and development efforts, ensuring the selection and direction of internal, outsourced, and contracted IT staff and vendors for technology and software.
    • Ensure the reliable, secure, scalable, and high-availability operation of the firm's technology platform.
    • Define and enforce technology standards and practices to maintain a robust and compliant IT environment.
    • Implement and monitor effective information security measures to safeguard the firm's data and systems.
    • Develop, track, and control annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing, and IT operations.
    • Optimize technology spending while ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and solutions.
    • Monitor financial performance metrics and provide regular reports to senior leadership on the status of technology initiatives and investments.
    • Define and oversee an appropriate software development methodology, ensuring the creation of well-structured, maintainable systems and applications.
    • Implement effective project management practices, ensuring timely and successful delivery of technology projects.
    • Track, analyze, and monitor technology performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
    Skills and Educational Requirements
    • Exceptional people and organizational leadership, with a track record of leading high performing teams
    • Law Firm experience required.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology management
    • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent; master's degree preferred.
    • Broad technical expertise that will inspire and encourage creative, collaborative problem solving.
    • Demonstrated experience in vendor evaluation, contract negotiation and comparative financial analysis.
    • Able to navigate seamlessly between setting a strategy and executing/implementing.
    • Possess a well-rounded business background.
    • Able to attract, inspire and retain all levels of talent.
    • Strong interpersonal, presentation and negotiating skills.
    • Ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility at all levels including the C- and Board level.
    For New York (New York City, Westchester and Long Island), the expected salary range for this position is between $425,000 and $475,000.
