Research Assistant Department Biomedical Sciences Pay Grade Job Category Temporary Job Summary A temporary part time Research Assistant position is available in the research laboratory of Dr.

Wang in the Department of Biomedical Sciences within the College of Medicine.

The Research Assistant is responsible to the Principal Investigator (PI) for assisting with research activities, including data collection, data analysis, interpretation, evaluation, and documentation.

The position is contingent upon approved work authorization. Employees are under general supervision.

Work performed in assisting in various research projects, performing a variety of technical duties related to conducting standardized tests or experiments, and performing related work as required.

Performs a variety of technical duties of a physical or biological nature in order to obtain data support for research-oriented activities Operates and sets up laboratory or research-oriented equipment to be utilized for specific experiments.

Collects, tabulates, and calculates data through operation of various electronic devices Orders, replaces, and maintains laboratory stock as required Performs minor repairs on research equipment as required Performs cleanup functions within the laboratory as required Performs other work as assigned All positions at East Tennessee State University are contingent upon sufficient funding.
