CNC Swiss Programmer / Lead Setup Technician

Job Summary

We are hiring a skilled CNC Swiss Programmer / Lead Setup Technician to program, set up, and optimize multi-axis Swiss CNC lathes producing tight-tolerance precision components.

This role requires strong experience with Swiss-style CNC machines, G-code programming, blueprint interpretation, and hands-on setup leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program and edit G-code on Swiss CNC machines (Citizen, Star, Tsugami, Hanwha, or similar)
• Perform and lead complex setups on multi-axis Swiss lathes
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
• Select tooling, adjust offsets, and optimize feeds and speeds
• Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, program logic, and material behavior
• Improve cycle times and reduce scrap through process optimization
• Perform first-piece inspections and ensure parts meet tight tolerances
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
• Train and mentor CNC machinists and operators

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Swiss CNC programming experience
• Experience with multi-axis Swiss turning centers
• Strong knowledge of G-code programming
• Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T skills
• Experience machining stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, or specialty alloys
• Proven troubleshooting and setup leadership experience
• Strong understanding of tooling, speeds/feeds, and process optimization
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in medical device, aerospace, or high-precision manufacturing
• Experience with bar feeders and automation
• Familiarity with CAM software (Esprit, Mastercam, PartMaker, or similar)
