    Director of Civil Engineering (Area President)--Land Development Focus

    The Bolton Group has been engaged by a leading national construction and real estate group to assist them in their search for a director of civil engineering--area president. This individual must have a strong background in land development.

    As the Director of Civil Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the civil engineering aspects of our construction and real estate projects. You will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, technical expertise, and innovative solutions to ensure the successful execution of projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. **Leadership and Team Management:**

    Lead and inspire a team of civil engineers, CAD Designers, EITs, etc. providing mentorship and guidance.

    2. **Project Oversight:**

    Direct and coordinate civil engineering activities from project initiation to completion.

    Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, zoning laws, and project specifications.

    3. **Strategic Planning:**

    Contribute to the development of the company's overall engineering strategy.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align civil engineering objectives with organizational goals.

    4. **Technical Expertise:**

    Provide technical expertise in civil engineering, including site development, infrastructure design, and utility coordination.

    Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and specifications.

    5. **Quality Assurance and Safety:**

    Implement and enforce quality assurance and control processes to uphold project standards.

    Champion and promote a safety-first culture on all construction sites.

    6. **Client and Stakeholder Relations:**

    Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

    Act as a key point of contact for civil engineering-related inquiries and issues.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.

    Professional Engineer (PE) license.

    Proven experience (10) in civil engineering, with a focus on land development (either commercial or residential is sufficient)

    Strong leadership and team management skills.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

    In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards.
