About the Department
Specialized in providing dialysis treatment to adult patients, especially those with Acute Kidney Injury resulting from critical illnesses. Patients in need of ICU care are often in need of dialysis support to aid in their recovery process. Common conditions requiring intensive care include trauma with shock, cardiothoracic surgeries, heart failure, liver failure, and sepsis. Dialysis may also be combined with Pheresis in certain cases to assist patients in stabilizing their bodies from autoimmune processes or drug overdoses.

Responsibilities
Deliver nursing care in accordance with the standards set by the American Nurses Association and the State of Michigan. Demonstrate proficiency in critical thinking through the nursing process, encompassing assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Adhere to professional performance standards outlined by the ANA, encompassing ethical practice, effective communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality assurance, and resource management.
