- Outcomes / Evaluation Identification, Planning and Implementation: identifies suspected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation and implements the identified plan, coordinating care delivery and employing strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes and accurately completes all documentation.
- Quality of Practice: systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
- Education, Professional Practice Evaluation and Research: attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice and evaluates one's own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes and regulations. Integrates research findings into practice. Keeps current on knowledge within scope of practice. Chapter Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) requires the RN to remain current.

- If RN, graduate of an accredited program in Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within five (5) years from the date of hire.
- If LPN, graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program; RN degree required within 3 years of hire.
- If RN, Registered Nurse with current Ohio license
- If LPN, current LPN licensure in the State of Ohio.

The Staff Nurse, RN or LPN as the primary care giver provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other care team members, the physician and the patient/family to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
