    Landmark Hospitality is currently looking for Prep Cook to join our team

    Landmark Hospitality is a leader in the hospitality industry, that owns and operates unique and iconic venues such as the Liberty House, Hudson House, Stone House, the Ryland Inn, Boathouse, Village Hall, Farmhouse and Felina in New Jersey. We also have operate iconic, unique venues in Pennsylvania such as Hotel Du Village, the Logan Inn, and Durham Springs.     Key Responsibilities:
    1. Ingredient Preparation:
    • Wash, peel, chop, slice, and dice various vegetables, fruits, and other food items.
    • Weigh and measure ingredients accurately according to the recipe requirements.
    1. Food Safety and Sanitation:
    • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards to ensure the safety of food preparation.
    • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils regularly.
    1. Inventory Management:
    • Assist in monitoring and restocking kitchen supplies, such as spices, condiments, and other food items.
    • Notify the kitchen manager or chef of low stock items to ensure a well-prepared kitchen.
    1. Dishwashing and Cleaning:
    • Assist in dishwashing and keeping the kitchen and preparation areas clean and organized.
    • Properly dispose of waste and recyclables.
    1. Assisting the Cooks:
    • Support line cooks and chefs by providing them with prepared ingredients as needed.
    • Collaborate with kitchen staff in maintaining a smooth workflow.
    1. Quality Control:
    • Inspect ingredients and prepared items for freshness, quality, and consistency.
    • Report any quality or safety concerns to the kitchen supervisor.
    1. Equipment Maintenance:
    • Help with the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and appliances.
    • Report any malfunction or issues with kitchen equipment to management.
    1. Multi-Tasking:
    • Handle multiple tasks efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Be ready to assist in various kitchen activities as required.
    Requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent is typically preferred.
    • Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar kitchen role is beneficial but not always required.
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
    • Familiarity with basic kitchen equipment and tools.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes accurately.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
    • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to kitchen procedures and practices.
    A prep cook is a fundamental part of any professional kitchen, contributing to the efficiency and success of the culinary team. Their role is essential for ensuring that the kitchen produces high-quality dishes in a safe and organized environment.
