- Conduct research to support legal proceedings
- Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents
- Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes
- Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Record and store client information
- Analyze and investigate facts
- Perform extensive document review including reviewing medical records and legal decisions, as well as calendaring hearings and deadlines
- Correspond with clients regarding legal matters
- Previous experience as a paralegal or other legal field
- An associates degree is required.
- A Certificate in Paralegal Studies from an ABA approved organization or bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Effective and proactive team player that has a positive can-do attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of partners, attorneys, and staff as well as our clients
- Deadline and detail oriented, strong organizational skills, committed to getting his/her daily tasks completed to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated, self-starter who has the ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to push claims forward to closure
- Familiarity with legal research
- Initiative to solve problems on your own, but also follow instructions for established processes
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and have experience using case management applications (generally tech savvy)
- Associate's Degree or Certificate in Paralegal Studies from an ABA approved organization or Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Must be punctual, responsible and reliable

Full-time Paralegal needed for a mid-sized and growing workers' compensation law firm with a friendly and collegial atmosphere in Paramus, New Jersey.
