    AR Specialist

    G&C Food Distributors is a re-distributor of refrigerated, frozen, and dry food. We store and deliver more than 4,000 food items to meet the needs of our customers across the United States and internationally.     Location: Syracuse, NY

    Pay: $24.00-$28.00

    Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    Job Summary

    The AR Specialist supports the finance department through a variety of administrative, accounting-based activities. This individual must be dependable, have excellent communication skills, must be able to work independently as well as in a team. The work environment is fast-paced and progressive.

    Essential Functions

    • Apply payments to customer accounts
    • Review & follow up on outstanding accounts receivables
    • Send invoices weekly to customers
    • Prepare and send bank deposits
    • Resolve deductions and vendor billbacks
    • Balance accounts daily
    • Interact with personnel from other departments (sales, transportation, warehouse, purchasing

    Job Requirements

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
    • 2+ years of office accounting experience preferred
    • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
    • Detail oriented
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Excellent customer service skills both over the phone as well as in person
    • Conflict resolution experience preferred
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
    • Experience with Enterprise software a plus
