STEAM Education Advisor Position at SAGE Center

General Position Summary:

• Craft, refine, and execute educational initiatives for school visits and summer STEAM camps.
• Engage in local and regional educational events hosted by schools.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Schedule, plan, organize, and lead educational school visits and summer STEAM camps.
• Oversee school visit program including tours, presentations, engagement plans, feedback, and thank you gestures.
• Establish learning outcomes and ensure their achievement.
• Develop relationships with educators to promote resources.
• Set and review school year goals.
• Collaborate with staff to plan educational events.
• Manage activities for the Morrow County Harvest Festival.

Secondary Functions:

• Cultivate collaborations for youth outreach initiatives.
• Represent the SAGE Center at local and regional school gatherings.
• Engage in Morrow County STEAM activities.

Specific Job Skills:

• Enjoy working with school-aged children.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for providing excellent customer service.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with staff and the public.
• Flexible schedule availability including some evenings and weekends.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Canva, and JotForm.
• Experience leading classroom activities.
• Public speaking ability.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Minimum age of 18 and high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong attendance and work ethic.
• Team player with customer service-oriented personality.
• Strong communication skills.
• Previous experience in school/camp settings.
• Leading activity instruction.
• Experience with youth and STEAM education.

Job Conditions:

• Indoor activities with occasional light lifting.
• Some outdoor work may be required rarely.
