Requirements of the Dental Hygienist

• Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene required (bachelor's preferred)
• Current state license
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working with children preferred
• Basic understanding and knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules
• Current CPR certification required

Responsibilities of the Dental Hygienist

• Collect medical and dental histories from patients
• Chart dental conditions based on observations and evaluations
• Provide optimum care for patients
• Instruct patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and care
• Sterilize dental instruments
