    Position: General Manager

    Career Level: Mid-Career/Manager

    Reports to: VP of Revenue & Sales, Operations Manager

    Role Description: Join our hotel team as a General Manager overseeing a beautiful property in New England. Ensure smooth coordination among all departments, including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance, focusing on revenue management, expense control, and exceptional customer satisfaction.

    This role includes hiring and training staff, working with Marketing to increase occupancy rates, managing budgets for high occupancy, loyal guests, and controlled expenses. Enjoy a supportive company culture and environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Team Management:

    • Ensure completion of daily tasks by staff.
    • Implement efficiency improvements for guests and employees.
    • Schedule staff and handle staffing levels.
    • Hire and manage staff performance.
    • Foster teamwork and growth opportunities.
    • Train and support staff.
    • Assist with special projects and property tours.
    • Monitor budgets and attend meetings.
    • Motivate employees and maintain a strong work culture.

    Short Term Goals:

    • 7 Days: Hold daily team huddles.
    • 15 Days: Submit reports and manage communications.
    • 30 Days: Develop property improvement plan and address pending tasks.
    • 45 Days: Establish uniform standards and supplies system.

    Sales and Marketing:

    • Grow group business and revenue opportunities.
    • Understand market mix and online presence.
    • Explore new sales sources.
    • Handle group queries and marketing content.
    • Monitor pricing and online visibility.
    • Create and distribute newsletters.

    Hospitality Support:

    • Welcome guests and solve issues.
    • Achieve top guest satisfaction ratings.
    • Manage reservations and supplies.
    • Collaborate with law enforcement if needed.
    • Support housekeeping and oversee tasks.
    • Manage transactions and expenses.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Experience in hotel reservations.
    • Proficiency in Excel and Word.
    • Strong communication and time management.
    • Friendly, reliable, and proactive.
    • Integrity and problem-solving skills.

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
    • Experience in hospitality management.
    • Experience with reservation systems.

    Managerial Responsibilities:

    • Supervisory experience needed.
    • Manage front desk and housekeeping.
    • Handle hiring and performance management.
    • Provide guidance to managers and staff.

    Work Environment:

    • Medium work up to 50 pounds occasionally.
    • Visual accuracy required.
    • Possible exposure to indoor environmental conditions.
    • Noise levels can be high during busy periods.
