    Amida is looking for a Director of Human Resources to join our team in Washington, DC.


    What You Will Do:
    Amida is currently looking for a Director of Human Resources to join our team in Washington, DC.

    In this role, you will report directly to the Vice President, Finance and Compliance, and will be a hands-on business partner who helps direct and shape our growing organization.

    The Director of Human Resources will work closely with the CEO, COO, CTO, CGO, and company-wide VPs to establish, implement, and manage HR policies and programs across the company.

    The ideal candidate will be an experienced HR generalist, capable of managing all aspects of human resources including:
    performance management, recruiting and selection, benefits administration, compensation administration, payroll, compliance, employee relations, and organizational development.

    Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    Design and maintain company-wide human resources policies and programs
    Create and execute a recruiting strategy for junior- through management-level hires to include creative sourcing, behavioral interviewing, offer negotiation, and onboarding
    Manage company-wide benefits program to include review of current benefits options, make recommendations on additional offerings, manage vendor contracts, and manage open enrollment
    Lead company-wide performance review process to include employee development, define objectives and key results, and align these to annual performance reviews
    Assist leadership with compensation management, to include salary recommendations for new hires and current employees based upon job title, qualifications, performance, location, and market; conduct annual review of salaries across the company to ensure equity of pay based on benchmark data
    Oversee the payroll payment process, ensure timeliness and accuracy, and correct funding of benefit and tax deductions
    Generate human resources data reports and board-level presentations
    Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct effective, thorough, objective investigations and serve as an objective third party in conflict mediation
    Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
    Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to leadership to include coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions
    Maintain responsibility for organizational compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters
    Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and be an in-person presence for both employees and leadership to answer questions and provide input into conversations as needed
    Maintain and present regular HR reports to senior leaders, including (but not limited to): attendance, updated resume book, vacation tracking, new employee starts, "buddy-system" assignments, management training, retention, and day new-employee on-boarding and acculturation


    Required Skills:
    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field
    10+ years of human resources experience, with at least 5 years spent in a management role
    Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
    Strong background in employee relations and engagement
    Prior experience with talent acquisition and onboarding
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the experience to both navigate issues and develop action plans
    Ability to meet deadlines while juggling multiple requests and projects
    Exceptional people skills, including the ability to work well with a wide variety of people
    A high level of discretion and emotional intelligence
    A dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment

    You must be within 50 miles of Washington, DC, to offer in-person support to Amida employees.

    One day a week in the Washington, DC office is required and subject to change. There is an expectation for the HR director to visit our new Richmond office once a month.


    Preferred Skills:
    Master's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field
    Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification
    Prior experience working in a growth company environment, to include the ability to wear many hats, pick up new skills quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced setting with intentionally limited infrastructure
