Job Summary
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units.
The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the organization's business objectives.
The HRBP maintains adequate business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture, and its competition.
Additional Information
This is a short-term position with a projected end date of June 30, 2025 with renewal contingent on funding source.
40% Provides consultation to MCCCD as a subject matter expert to identify staffing needs, strategies, and development. Works with local HR on finding solutions and ensuring compliance. Composes correspondence; interprets Human Resource policies and procedures and disseminates information to applicants, management, and employees.
Is a strategic business partner to local HR working to develop and direct an HR agenda that closely supports organizational goals.
Reviews and resolves complex issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective analysis and reporting.Works closely with District Office HR Leadership to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase efficiency and effectiveness in implementing the Talent Strategy program.
30% Communicates and applies district employment policies and procedures, state and federal employment rules and regulations; assists local HR and hiring managers as needed; reviews and monitors paper and online HR documents; verifies documents for accuracy and compliance with federal and state guidelines and District policy.
20% Participates and leads large-scale and/or complex projects or programs having significant impact and effect. Makes independent decisions and exercises judgment about operational program components. To include researching concerns, evaluating data, and producing professional reports. Develops, data reporting on vacancies, time to fill, retention, turnover, hires, and separations.
10% Performs reporting and data analysis; serves as a pre-employment resource for potential hires and other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in human resources, business or social-related field and two (2) years of professional-level human resources experience in talent management strategy and engagement, including specialized knowledge of human resources policies and practices related to the administration and implementation of programs.

Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution in human resources, business or social-related field and four (4) years of professional-level human resources experience in talent management strategy and engagement, including specialized knowledge of human resources policies and practices related to the administration and implementation of programs.
OR
General Education Diploma/High School Diploma or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution and six (6) years of professional-level human resources experience in talent management strategy and engagement, including specialized knowledge of human resources policies and practices related to the administration and implementation of programs.
A.
Four (4) years of experience resolving complex situations, objectively assessing the situation or circumstances using all relevant information, and applying expertise to conclude or make a decision.
B.Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity, equity & inclusion, benefits, payroll, and federal and state-respective employment laws.
C. Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, with multiple deadlines and changing prioritiesD. Demonstrated experience providing group training and writing training materials
E. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or PSHRA or HRCI certifications.
Special Working Conditions
May be required to travel to different various community college campuses.
