    Description
    SMX is seeking a driven and talented System Administrator to support our customers mission.

    The customers mission provides a persistent capability for linking distributed facilities, enabling DoD customers to develop and test warfighting capabilities in a Joint Context.

    This initiative offers a test infrastructure composed of the necessary components for conducting Joint distributed test events. Cost-effective integration of live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) test resources is undertaken to configure support according to users needs.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Responsible for the administration of:

    Computer systems hardware, network gear, software, information systems & peripheral equipment such as servers, desktops, zero clients, storage devices, and virtualization infrastructure.

    Provide TRMC ISSM cyber security reports, conduct scans and maintain system.

    Maintains, installs, upgrades and configures data systems (Windows/Linux/VMWare/SQL Server), administers operating systems (Windows/Linux), and maintains basic security and recovery procedures such as performing patches and system backups.


    Administration of infrastructure including but not limited to:
    servers, zero clients, malware protection software, HBSS, syslog servers, databases, etc.
    Upgrades systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and/or security issue resolution.
    Authors and/or reviews configuration change requests and attends all configuration change review board meetings.
    Identifies potential risks or inefficiencies associated with the configuration of the system and recommends appropriate mitigation strategies.

    Manage PKI in an active directory environmentManage VM VCenter server and Security ServerEnsure ACAS scanner can access, scan, and report results on all systems in the enclave.

    Complete quarterly Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) checklistsEnsures compliance with data security policies, relevant legal and regulatory requirements, and TRMC cyber security program implementation plans in accordance with TRMC directives and applicable RMF requirements.

    Monitors system daily and responds rapidly to security or usability concerns.
    Provide remote access technical support to remote test-bed usersProvide network performance analysis and metricsProvide technical guidance and edits for the KM Team Standard Operating ProceduresCreates and verifies backups of data

    Required Skills:

    Clearance Required:
    DoD Secret Security Clearance.

    Top Secret/SCI preferredAvailable to work onsite at Patuxent River NAS 5 days/weekMust have experience working in a DoD environment.5 years Windows Server systems administration experienceVMWare Certified Professional (VCP) certification, preferable Desktop and MobilityThree (3) years of technical experience in support of information assurance/network protection or virtualization projects.

    DoD 8570 certifications (Security+ or equivalent)

    Skills using Microsoft Office applications to build reportsDesired Skills:
    Under general supervision can solve complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices.

    Experience in Engineering, Systems Analysis, Information Assurance, Web Development, or Engineering Management to include:
    Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems / Equipment Support, and Test and Evaluation.

    Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processesAbility to read and understand server / systems logs and produce meaningful issue analysis.

    Ability to Work with key stakeholders in the A&A team to confirm that the system documentation reflects the current security configuration of the system, in terms of hardware and software components, data flow, interconnections, and ports, protocols, and servicesAbility to Ensure changes and improvement actions are documented and implemented as required.

    Ability to Ensure compliance with protection requirements, control procedures, incident management reporting, remote access requirements, and system management for all systems under scope.
