As an Acute Pharmacy Technician at Banner University Medical Center Tucson, you will be part of a highly skilled team of technicians providing superior service to our patients. You will collaborate closely with exceptional pharmacists and dedicated nursing staff, learning about robotics and electronic dosage preparation through our Carousel automated dispensing system. Gain exposure to the Pyxis medication dispensing units, and participate in various inpatient pharmacy operations, including compounding, IV preparation, and total parenteral nutrition compounding. POSITION SUMMARY
This position involves assisting pharmacists in packaging, distributing, non-sterile compounding, and managing pharmaceutical supplies. Serve as a link between customers and pharmacists, and gain expertise in preparing intravenous medications, nutrition products, and chemotherapeutic agents while adhering to regulations. Utilize pharmacy computer systems efficiently, assess situations, and provide the appropriate solutions. Educate and mentor fellow Pharmacy Technicians and uphold patient care standards.
CORE FUNCTIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Active Pharmacy Technician certification and licensure required. Proficiency in mathematical calculations, strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask. Knowledge of pharmacy software systems, Microsoft applications, and automated dispensing systems. Effective communication skills essential for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
