    The Bibb County School District is now accepting applications for Warehouse Assistant II.

    JOB SUMMARY
    The purpose of this job/class within the organization is to receive and distribute products used in the District.

    This job/class works under close supervision according to set procedures.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    (includes the following, other duties may be assigned)
    1. Inspects, audits, acquires, and stores supplies and equipment for the District.
    2. Moves office and classroom furniture from work order requests as required.
    3. Organize Warehouse and Furniture.
    4. Assist with heavy lifting.
    5. Assist with Surplus Sales and Auction.
    6. Open and Closing of Warehouse.
    7. Ability to operate a forklift.
    8. Ability to work long working hours, overtime may be required.
    9. Performs related work as assigned.
    10. Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area.
    11. Completes deliveries by driving truck or van to and from vendors.
    12. Maintains truck or van by completing preventive maintenance requirements; arranging for repairs.
    13. Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders and printing requests.
    14. Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
    15. Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
    16. Completes reports if needed when requested.
    17. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    18. The person will coordinate all PPE supplies with the assistant with receiving clerk, as well as text books as needed.
    19. This person will also work directly with the receiving clerk to ensure all inventory items are accounted for on a daily basis.
    KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    1. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
    2. Ability to organize/coordinate product flow from distributors to production to school sites. A thorough understanding of inventory control systems as they relate to service products and supplies.
    3. Ability to use Microsoft Office
    4. Ability to implement an effective inventory system or procedures
    EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE
    1. A minimum of 3 years' experience in warehousing.
    2. CDL License preferred.
    3. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
    4. Standard Board of Education employment requirements.
    5. Such alternatives to the above requirements as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
    6. Equipment Maintenance if needed.
    SALARY/TERMS/BENEFITS:
    day work year; 8 hours per day.
    2. Salary range: $ $16.34 hourly (Grade 29) (placement on salary schedule based on years of related

    experience.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    Performs medium/heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, dancing, stretching, or lifting all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or exceptional skill, adeptness, and speed in the use of fingers, hands, or limbs in tasks involving very close tolerances or limits of accuracy.
