Description

• Knowledge of principles of internal combustion engines and of procedures, tools, equipment, and materials used in the repair and maintenance of motorized equipment.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems, operate equipment used in repairing or servicing motorized equipment, estimate time and materials needed to complete a job, and understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to lift up to one hundred (100) pounds.
• Three years' experience repairing motorized equipment as a journey-level mechanic.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Must have a good driving record.

Under general supervision of the Automotive Supervisor and Lead Mechanic, performs all repairs on gas- and diesel-powered equipment; performs scheduled preventive maintenance procedures; contributes to a team effort for the benefit of pupils, staff, and the community; and performs other duties as assigned.
