    In this role you will:
    The Pre-operative Interview Nurse will obtain the patients medical history and provide detailed pre-operative instructions. This position allows access to clinical records.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Makes pre-operative telephone calls.
    Performs pre-anesthesia evaluation/interview and teaching.
    Participates in patient education and QA.
    Documents results of the pre-anesthesia evaluation and reports results to the Anesthesiologist if needed.
    Assures patient safety. Maintains a safe environment.
    Participates in budgetary, marketing, utilization, cost containment and reduction activities.
    Practices economy in the use of time and supplies.
    Assists in organizing and developing policies and procedures and plans for improvement. Applies principles of Risk Management, QA and Patient Safety.
    Knows organizations mission, philosophy, goals and objectives and plans for improvement and strives to follow and implement these. Makes suggestions for improvement.
    Utilizes the supervisory chain of command.
    Attends all mandatory meetings and in-services required by the facility.
    Abides by the company ethics program.
    Assure compliance with all company plans, policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute
    All other duties as assigned

    About You

    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice in the State of Florida.

    Experience:
    Prefer previous general medical-surgical nursing and/or Pre-OP/PACU experience.
    Must be BLS & ACLS certified.
    Must display comprehensive and current knowledge of general nursing theory and practice.
