Senior Cable Technician - Fort George G. Meade, United States - Tyto Athene, LLC

Description

Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior Cable Technician to support a large federal agency's Network Infrastructure through survey, design, and deployment of structured networks and will be responsible for the upkeep of the security posture of the environment. This is accomplished through projects such as new installations, life cycle replacement projects, Cable Plant and wireless installations that are compliant with commercial, TEMPEST, and NIST standards.

Responsibilities:

• Leads network survey, design, and installations teams under direction of the government
• Conducts Site Surveys of customer premise networks in CONUS and OCONUS locations
• Creates detailed Site Survey reports detailing a site's current infrastructure, NIST and TEMPEST compliance, along with design recommendations
• Configures, installs, tests, certifies, and troubleshoots network infrastructure cabling
• Ensures Network cabling infrastructure is compliant with current NIST and TEMPEST standards
• Builds and installs equipment racks, installs, dresses, labels, and terminates Cat6 and Fiber cable in telecommunications rooms
• Tests and troubleshoot network infrastructure issues on SIPR and NIPR networks.
• Developing Bills of Material (BOM) for network plant design requirements
• Arranges scheduled upgrades
• Investigating faults in the network
• Reports network infrastructure deployment status to key stakeholders
• Have flexible working hours to be available to support off hour work when needed
• Performs preventative maintenance
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Required:

• Active TS/SCI Clearance Required
• Successful completion of a certified technical/vocational school, and 4 years related experience or a combination of applicable training and experience
• BICSI certifications highly desired RCDD or BICSI Installer
• IAT Level I certification is required before start
• Appropriate DoD 8570 Baseline Certification requires A+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, SCCP, or Security+CE

Desired:

• Understanding of ANSI/TIA-568 and 569 standards
• Requirements of Protective Distribution Systems (PDS) for Classified Systems as directed by Security and/or the Certified Tempest Technical Authority (CTTA)
• National Security Telecommunication & Information Systems Security Instruction (NTISSI) 7003.
• DISA network topologies and standards
• Topology and rack elevations using Visio
• Experience with various OTDR, cable testers, and network sniffers to develop reports for infrastructure certification documentation
