    Remote Work Policy:

    JWP has a remote work policy, with all employees working remotely. While remote work is valued, candidates must be located within the country of the job posting.     The Data Engineering Team:

    The data team at JWP is dynamic and innovative, overseeing the data lifecycle from ingestion to analysis, impacting all aspects of our business ecosystem. Engineers on the team play a key role in shaping the company's path by making critical decisions about infrastructure, technology stack, and strategies.

    The Opportunity:

    JWP is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Data Engineering team. As part of the team, you will delve into cutting-edge big data tools and technology. This role offers you the chance to collaborate with various teams to address vital challenges at one of the world's largest and rapidly growing video companies.     As a Data Engineer, you will:

    • Contribute to developing distributed batch and real-time data infrastructure.
    • Mentor and collaborate with junior engineers.
    • Conduct code reviews and lead small to medium-sized projects.
    • Work closely with Product Managers, Analysts, and cross-functional teams to enhance data products.

    Role Requirements:

    • Minimum 3+ years of backend engineering experience with a strong interest in big data.
    • Proficiency in Python or Java, SQL.
    • Familiarity with Kafka.
    • Experience with various datastores.
    • Show humility, empathy, and a collaborative spirit for team success.

    Bonus Points:

    • Data engineering experience including data modeling and building ETL pipelines.
    • Familiarity with AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, and EMR.
    • Knowledge of Snowflake, Elasticsearch, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Flink.
    • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and agile methodologies.
    • Knowledge of Airflow for task management.
