    Maintenance Electrician / Days (1)

    Graveyard (1) / Reciprocal journeyman license states include:

    APEL Extrusions is an aluminum extruder serving the commercial, residential and industrial markets of Western Canada and the Western United States.

    APEL has three locations in Coburg, OR, Phoenix, AZ, and Calgary, Canada.


    Our Coburg location is looking for full-time electricians to join our Maintenance Department in maintaining the proper working order of our extrusion plant.

    Applicant must have experience with Hydraulic, Mechanical and Pneumatic troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment. All shifts need coverage.

    Duties


    • Troubleshoot and repair machinery quickly and efficiently when issues happen during production
    • Complete projects during production (ex: fabrication, rebuilding parts, wiring panels and inspecting machinery)
    • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs while machinery is down
    • Maintain working electrical knowledge of presses and machinery
    • Log maintenance work
    • Adhere to safety standards and wear proper personal protective equipment
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
    • Work independently and as a team
    • Other maintenance duties as assigned
    • Overtime may be required and will vary based on production schedule and projects

    Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements:

    • Current LME electrical license or higher required.
    • Experience with and understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic valves and troubleshooting, pumps, cylinders and schematics required.
    • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Variable frequency drives, 3 phase 480vac equipment, motor controls and sensors preferred.
    • Experience with general industrial equipment such as chain, bushings, bearings, gearboxes and drive belts preferred.
    • Experience with fabrication and reading blueprints preferred.
    • Lock out/tag out experience preferred.
    • Operate forklift and man lift preferred.
    • Experience with plumbing of air, oil, grease and water lines preferred.

    Maintenance Manager

    Amount of Supervision Required to Perform Job:
    Minimal Supervision


    Environmental Factors and Working Conditions:

    • Clean and safe working environment
    • All machinery is indoors, rarely will work be outside
    • The manufacturing plant is warm in the winter and hot in the summer
    Education and Work experience


    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Oregon LME or Plant Journeyman License
    • 1+ years experience
    Compensation


    • Hourly wage dependent on experience and license type
    • Differential for swing and graveyard shifts
    • Differential based on PLC experience and knowledge
