    Site Requirements:
    On-boarding will require 1-2 visits to Patuxent River, MD.

    Candidates are required to work onsite at Patuxent River, MD 4-5 days per month and must reside within 90 miles of Patuxent River, MD.

    Future on-site/telework requirements/schedules may change as additional client direction is received.


    Essential Functions:


    Install, configure, upgrade, and administer SQL Server database engine, SQL Server Service Broker, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, and/or SQL Server Reporting Services.

    Configure SQL Server instances and ensure compliance to DoD STIGs.
    Work with software engineers to test databases and schemas.
    Configure database backups in accordance with customer requirements.
    Perform database recoveries as required.
    Perform daily checks of databases, backups, exports, jobs, and storage.
    Troubleshoot databases, schemas, and user accounts.
    May assist with re-platforming and migration of government on-premise databases and schemas to cloud environments:


    Communicate and work with cloud migration SMEs, system/web administrators, and data center personnel to verify and update database migration plan, specifications, actions, and tasking.

    Create and maintain SQL Server database cloud migration documentation including detailed SOPs and checklists.
    Adhere to cloud migration schedules.
    Track, document, and provide progress on database migrations.
    Report issues and risks to cloud project manager.

    Other duties as assigned or required.


    Qualifications and Experience:

    Required:
    Database administration experience working with SQL Server 2014/2016/2019 required.
    Experience with performance tuning and query optimization required.
    CompTIA Security+ certification required (must show proof of cert prior to interview).


    Desired:
    Experience with migrating existing SQL Server databases to cloud-based (AWS) environments a plus.
    Experience with Data Guard, AWS RDS, Rubrik, Sybase, Oracle, and other RDBMS' a plus.


    Security Clearance:
    Active TS/SSBI clearance desired or active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SSBI. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.


    Education:
    AA/AS degree and 3 years relevant experience OR HS Diploma and 5 years relevant experience.
