    Job Description

  • Conduct legal research on regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to compliance matters.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting the organization's operations and compliance obligations.
  • Support compliance audits and investigations by gathering and organizing relevant documentation and information.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing compliance-related documents, including policies, procedures, and reports.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of compliance activities, including regulatory filings and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal counsel, compliance officers, and department heads, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings, disclosures, and responses to inquiries from regulatory agencies.
  • Provide support in responding to compliance-related inquiries from internal and external parties.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and developments in compliance law and regulations to advise stakeholders accordingly.

    The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a compliance paralegal or in a related legal or regulatory role.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance principles and practices, particularly in areas such as corporate governance, data privacy, and regulatory filings.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools/software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. What's on Offer

    Contract to hire position based on performance offering a hybrid work schedule (3 to 4 days per week in office located in Midtown). Day one benefits will be offered through Aetna (health, vision, and dental) as well as commuter benefits.
