    Responsibilities

    Suncoast Behavioral Health Center opened its doors in 4 and provides the highest quality of behavioral healthcare for patients in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. Suncoast Behavioral Health Center is a -bed free-standing psychiatric hospital. We offer diverse inpatient and residential programs for children and adolescents.

    In a highly specialized field of psychiatry, our goal is to promote cognitive, social, physical and emotional development to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to help our patients succeed.

    The Hospital is looking for a Licensed Therapist - LCSW or LMHC ($0. Sign On Bonus): Sunday - Thursday to provide psychiatric services to a community of patients in our Intensive Outpatient Programs. The IOP program offers a goal oriented treatment approach for chronic mental health issues for adolescents with a general psychiatric disorder or a dual diagnosis of mental illness.

    Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs psychiatric social service functions to include assessments, group therapy, family therapy, treatment planning, discharge planning and coordination with referral sources.
  • Ensures a Psychosocial Assessment is prepared for each patient according to established time frames, assuring that all appropriate information is included and shared with treatment team members.
  • Oversees case management and discharge planning components of the patient's Master Treatment Plan and MTP reviews, documenting discussion of the plan with the patient and family as appropriate. Completes group, individual and family therapy components as appropriate for IOP.
  • Maintains documentation in accordance with departmental/hospital standards and requirements of regulatory bodies.
  • Develops appropriate aftercare plans with the patient, assessing the need and arranging for community agency support as appropriate and documenting it. Completes appointment sections of discharge sheet.
  • Understands and utilizes program processes, rules and schedules of the IOP Program.
  • Attends and participates in treatment team meetings.

    Qualifications

    Job Requirements :

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health counseling.
  • Current license from the State of Florida, LCSW or LMHC required.
  • One (1) year direct clinical experience specific to family, individual and group therapy with children and/or adolescents. For specialized issues or treatment modalities, training must be specific to these; abuse reactive, sexual offending, substance abuse, sexual trauma, vocational, play therapy, art therapy and relaxation therapy. Must have knowledge of human development over the life span.
  • Work is mentally demanding. Extensive walking, standing and sitting. Must be able to participate in the physical restraint and seclusion of patients. Must be able to participate in and complete.
