Overview

Our client, a growing power engineering and infrastructure firm, is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead complex, multi discipline projects from planning through execution.

This role manages contracts, budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables while ensuring QA/QC, safety, and regulatory compliance.

The Project Manager will coordinate field activities, commissioning, and construction support, while leading stakeholders, mitigating risk, and mentoring engineering teams.

A PE license and/or PMP certification is strongly preferred, along with proven experience managing $1M–$5M+ engineering projects and strong client facing leadership skills.

This full-time position is based in San Diego, CA.

Pay Rate:
$105,000 - $180,000 DOE

Responsibilities:
Manage contracts and project scopes ranging from $1M–$5M+, ensuring all technical deliverables meet client and regulatory standards.
Develop budgets, milestone schedules, resource plans, and monthly status reports for clients and subconsultants.
Lead stakeholder engagement, anticipate risks, negotiate solutions, and support long-term client relationships.
Oversee QA/QC, safety compliance, and adherence to codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
Guide field coordination, site visits, commissioning activities, and construction support documentation.
Mentor engineering teams, contribute to process standardization, and support cross-department alignment.
Lead onboarding, training initiatives, and knowledge transfer across the PMO.

Requirements:
5+ years of project management experience in utilities engineering or very similar technical fields
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar field required
PE license and/or PMP certification strongly preferred
Proven experience managing complex, multi-discipline engineering projects ($1M–$5M+)
Strong analytical skills, contract management knowledge, and experience with complex multi-discipline projects
Experience with QA/QC, regulatory compliance, permitting, and field coordination
Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills
