Onboard Carbon Capture ("OCC") provides a low-cost and near-term solution to significantly reduce the intensity of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases (GHGs) onboard large maritime vessels.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a
Full-Time Naval Architect and Marine Engineer
to join our team.
The ideal candidate for this position will need a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Maritime or Offshore industry, with at least one project involving structural modifications for the vessel.
This person needs to be familiar with Class Societies and Regulatory compliance for the project to be installed on a ship.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regulatory compliance verification (Flag and Class Society rules) for the project and ensure that the project meets the requirements.
Perform design review of ship modification, including changes to the General Arrangement, Fire and Safety Plan, and Structural DWG.Design and prepare engineering reports and documents to be submitted to the yard and class society.
Evaluate design loads and accelerations for the modified structure.Assist with the structural, piping, and equipment material specification, as well as necessary certifications required to be installed in a maritime vessel.
Assist with stability analysis for the ship modification.
QualificationsBachelor of Science (BS) degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering or related Engineering specialty from an accredited college or university.5 to 10 years of experience in the Maritime and/or Offshore Industry.
Have worked with Class Societies in the past (ABS, DNV, BV, LR).Have had at least 1 project delivered and installed onboard a maritime vessel (e.g., Bulk Carriers, Ro-Ros, Container Ships) regarding structural modification.
Familiar with ATEX requirements.OtherEffective interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and interact with all levels of the organization and in multinational environmentsExcellent planning and organizational skillsStrong project management skillsPassionate about decarbonizing the maritime industry
