**Description**
Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Parts Counter Sales associate in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Parts Counter Sales associate is an entry-level role responsible for assisting customers to identify and order parts via telephone, email, or walk-in. Were seeking candidates with previous experience ordering parts in a service-related industry, or experience working in the Heavy Equipment industry, preferred but not required. Previous customer service experience a plus.
**We are currently offering a $1.000 sign-on bonus for this position, payable after 90-days of employment.**
Requirements for the Instore Sales associate position include:
Self-starter with entry-level technical aptitude, and the ability to learn. Able to develop and maintain working knowledge of all Caterpillar products and other brands sold by Carter Machinery.
Able to properly identify parts using parts catalogs, the internet, and CAT ordering system.
Must possess good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
The ability to build solid customer relationships.
Must have strong written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.
Computer skills are required, including Microsoft products and other applications; able to learn Caterpillar's "Dealer Business System" (DBS) and related software programs.
Able to work overtime as required by job and customer demand.
Physical requirements must be met for the Parts Counter Sales associate job, including the ability sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Able to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 10 pounds in weight. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned.
