- Location: BSW Hillcrest Hospital, Waco, Texas
- Schedule: PRN Variable Shifts
- Administers respiratory care services including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, inhaled medication, airway clearance, ventilation, and spirometry as prescribed by the physician. Conducts CPR in emergency situations.
- Reviews physician orders and patient test results to provide appropriate therapy based on the patient's condition. Implements approved protocols when directed.
- Prioritizes patient needs in delivering routine and advanced respiratory therapy.
- Educates patients on using respiratory care equipment and assesses their response to therapy, offering guidance for improvement.
- Documents treatments, therapy, and charges accurately. Reports therapeutic outcomes and makes necessary recommendations.
- Adheres to established policies including infection control, HIPAA, and time and attendance. Collaborates effectively with colleagues and healthcare professionals.
- Takes initiative to fulfill professional and technical requirements. Embraces continuous quality improvement in clinical care.
- Proficient in Respiratory Care modalities, therapies, equipment, and medications.
- Capable of reading, writing, and following protocols effectively.
- Works well under pressure with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Possesses general computer skills for data entry, information security, and electronic medical documentation.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) PRN brings advanced knowledge and training of the cardiopulmonary system to manage and treat patients. Utilizing various scientific methods, therapies, and techniques, the therapist optimizes patient care and outcomes.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from the State of Texas Medical Board.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
