    What does the AssistantDirector of Nursing - Registered Nurse do?


    This Registered Nurse leadership role at our skilled nursing carecenter is an important one, and a impactful one Under the supervision of theDirector of Nursing Services (DNS), you would provide direction to clinicalteam members in the delivery of daily nursing services and ensures compliancein accordance with nursing and regulatory standards.

    You would be responsibleto plan, organize, develop and direct all clinical training and educationalprograms at the care center for all staff including Certified NursingAssistants (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Nurses (RN).

    • Support the Director of Nursing (DNS) with themanagement of the clinical department, including providing leadership, trainingand evaluation for clinical team members.
    • Determine and assess facility clinical trainingand educational needs, develops an educational plan and reports educationprogram updates to the Administrator and DNS. Ensures that the clinicaltraining and education programs maximize staff competency and clinicaloutcomes.
    • Assume responsibility for directing thein-service educational programs and completing competency skills annually andas needed.
    • Coordinate the onboarding and orientationprograms for newly hired clinical team members. Directs the Preceptor and/ormentor programs for new employees.
    • Partner with DNS to support clinicalrecruitment, staffing and retention initiatives.
    • Assist with daily staff scheduling, fillingabsences, assigning overflow staff, and/or rearranging assignments as needed toassure the highest practicable level of physical and psychosocial wellbeing foreach resident and to meet the state and federal regulations.
    • Partner with clinical team to assist with newadmissions, transfers, discharges, investigations and resident care planningensuring related documentation is current, signed, and the recordkeeping meetsthe policies and procedures.
    • Observes, audits and reviews resident'scondition, status, and care requirements and takes appropriate action to assurecare needs are met.
    • Partners with the DNS to maintain compliancewith applicable federal, state and local standards and regulations andcompletes quality care and compliance audits.
    • Assists in the management of the InfectionControl Program and Antibiotic Stewardship including acting as an InfectionPreventionists (as required) and completing specialized training in infectioncontrol. Provides training to staff on infection control practices,investigates and reports incidents of infection and tracks infection data.
    • Participates in leadership team by activelycontributing in decision making, grievance follow up, building and company-wideinitiatives and attending leadership team meetings such as daily stand upManaging Acute Care Conditions (MACC), Nutrition at Risk (NAR), UtilizationReview (UR), Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) and othermeetings as required
    Education & Experience you need to qualify:

    You must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursingor Associate Degree in Nursing
    You must have a current, unencumbered RegisteredNurse (RN) license in the state of practice. You will need to bring a minimumof one year working in geriatric nursing, including experience with medicationadministration, delivery systems and pharmacies
    One year in supervisory or management position,with experience with staff development, training and scheduling preferred
    The ability to creatively problem solve in bothresident care and employee management situations. Individual must be a teamplayer, well organized, and flexible
