- Actively leads the Quality Engineering team with agility to address technical issues in support of the internal and external program and production teams.
- Ensures that quality engineering effectively reviews, interprets, and flows down customer contractual quality requirements to the program office, engineering, manufacturing, and inspection.
- Must communicate successfully with external and internal customers by discussing quality specifications and actions taken to prevent or correct problems with our products.
- Effectively perform investigations to determine the root cause for product and process non-conformance
- Initiates and follows up on inspection and test methods and procedures to ascertain proper administration and compliance with all requirements. Assists in cost reduction through lean manufacturing techniques.
- Supports manufacturing and helps ensure daily production targets are met
- Optimizes machine set-up, changeover, and programming
- Assist in training employees of all functions in quality, ISO9001, customer requirements, and company practices
- Prepares job descriptions and successfully interviews and hires proficient candidates for the Quality Engineering Team.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Materials Science, Mechanical).
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001
- Engineering experience in the printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) industry in a high-reliability environment.
- Experience with all SMT Processes – SMT Pick and Place, Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI), and THT.
- Strong leadership and coaching/mentoring skills.
- Prior manufacturing engineering experience with technical leadership in high-reliability SMT.
- Thorough knowledge of validation principles, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and engineering design fundamentals.
- Technical knowledge of reading blueprints, schematics, electrical/engineering drawings, and electrical and automation programming aptitude.
- Experience with J Standards for electronic manufacturing.
- Experience with drawing interpretation and GD&T.
