ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Non rotating 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities
Direct and manage administrative duties for the Street Operations department which include: Maintenance and Planning, Traffic Engineering, Traffic Signals and Signs and Marking departments by: overseeing staffing needs, progressive disciplinary actions, policy implementation, agenda/council action items, and department training
Manage departmental budget by:
preparing the annual report, fiscal planning, monitoring expenditures and assuring receipt of revenues and reimbursements.
Assist with City functions by:
attending internal department meetings and participating in committees as needed.
Provide customer service to internal/external customers by:
resolving customer problems including communicating with customers in person, in writing, or via telephone.
Monitor and oversee the Street Improvement Plan and pavement management systems and the street reconstruction program by:
developing and implementing strategic plans to align and link goals, objectives, strategies and tactics to mission, vision and core values of the City.
This position will necessitate traveling/driving within the City. Maintain professional and technical knowledge and skills by keeping required license/certification current. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Position requires Bachelors' degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field with minimum of eight (8) years of increasingly responsible: civil engineering, project management and related administrative experience.
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, or a valid Registration as a Professional Engineer in another state, with the ability to obtain State of Texas registration within six (6) months of employment is required.
A valid driver's license is required.Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.
Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
