    About the Role & Team

    This Senior Financial Reporting Analyst supports the Revenue Reporting Team. This position plays an integral role in Financial Reporting's new revenue initiative support and the recurring financial close process by providing revenue recognition subject matter expertise, project management, and day-to-day support in the areas of system implementation, journal entry preparation and review, G/L accounts reconciliation preparation, and analyses of G/L accounts and variances.

    This position supports business unit ticket admissions revenue and deferral processes, SOX compliance, and management decision support. This position requires a professional who is highly motivated and a self-starter. This individual must be able to develop professional relationships with various business partners, analyze and decipher accounting data to accurately review the department's reporting obligations. They must be able to identify problems and develop innovative solutions to further efforts toward continuous process improvements.     Financial Reporting is the organization within the Controllership that leads and facilitates the segment's financial reporting processes, including the production of all deliverables and supporting analysis for SEC reporting and segment management reporting. In addition, the team has direct responsibility for the financial statement consolidation of the individual financial reporting processes for business areas within the parks and resorts segment. Specifically, the Revenue Reporting Team prepares monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date financial statements and analyzes variances to forecast, plan, and prior year for admissions, room rentals, merchandise, F&B, participant income and other revenue-producing lines of business.

    Typical responsibilities of a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst include completing recurring monthly financial reporting results, quarter-end tasks, and other projects as assigned by Management.

    What You Will Do
    • Strategic analysis of new revenue initiatives which can include revenue recognition subject matter expertise, system configuration, and system testing
    • Ensure compliance with revenue recognition rules, SOX guidelines, and various control and compliance procedures related to admissions revenue recognition systems and admissions product setups
    • Lead recurring system testing efforts to maintain and uplift the admissions revenue recognition systems
    • Assist team with data analytics and reporting associated with the admissions revenue recognition systems
    • Identify process improvements and lead various efficiency projects
    Required Qualifications & Skills
    • Minimum 3-5+ years accounting experience
    • Proactive, highly motivated, detailed, self-starter, and a champion of change
    • Strong understanding of general Finance and Accounting processes (including internal controls) to ensure financial integrity and control requirements are met (including SOX compliance)
    • Ability to prepare and present information to support decision-making through effective "storytelling" (both written and verbal) to audiences of all levels of the organization persuasively, articulately, and with full command of the topic
    • Strong leadership qualities, attention to detail, & organization skills including the ability to plan and prioritize work and handle multiple priorities
    • Strong social skills and ability to establish relationships and work on cross-functional teams
    • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously with very strict adherence to deadlines
    • Identifies process improvement opportunities and provides solutions
    • Ability to be flexible with work schedule
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with project work including transformation efforts, system implementations, efficiency efforts, report development, etc.
    • Experience performing testing efforts to validate financial requirements
    • Experience applying ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) in a practical business setting
    • Strong technical skills in Business Intelligence software such as Business Objects, Business Warehouse, MicroStrategy, Alteryx, Tableau, and/or Power BI
    • Advanced understanding of VBA, SQL, and database design
    • Experience leading people
