    United Way convenes and supports a series of Community Leadership Tables (CLT) centered around identified priority needs. United Way serves as the backbone entity and convener for United Way-led tables, and support for United Way funded tables. The Director will provide support for the United Way of Greater St. Louis' internal and external supported Community Leadership Tables (CLT) that align with the organization's systems change priorities and impact areas:

    • Jobs and Financial Mobility
    • Early Childhood and Youth Success
    • Health and Wellbeing
    • Community Stability and Crisis Response
    • Basic Needs
    • Public Policy
    • Communities of Excellence

    The Director will provide facilitative, administrative, and technical support to stakeholders and coalitions in advancing strategies outlined in the Community Needs Assessment and other emergent need areas. The role is responsible for managing complex projects, equipping, and supporting stakeholders in facilitating change processes and helping to inspire commitment and action throughout the community.


    Stays up-to-date on what works within the Collective Impact field and any available tools and resources to benchmark and leverage data, provides direction and support to stakeholders in aligning their work to the Community Needs Assessment. Identifies, provides and/or coordinates the delivery of relevant technical assistance to coalitions on continuous improvement practices and systems change and building strategies. Develops and maintains relationships with coalitions and community stakeholders, builds and work with coalitions to develop detailed plans for executing systems change and building strategies to advance the Community Needs Assessment. Facilitates ongoing communication within and across coalitions, develops and supports platforms to ensure the engagement of key stakeholder groups in systems change and building processes.

    Designs and implements strategies to increase awareness of United Way programs, services, and initiatives that align with the interests and goals of legislators and governmental bodies.


    Successfully candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years of work experience within related fields and experience supporting coalitions. A Master's degree social work, public health, public policy or related field preferred. Broad knowledge of change facilitation intervention techniques is required along with strong facilitation and project management skills and the ability to co-create intervention designs with stakeholders and generating ownership along with the ability to provide guidance to people with a wide range of cultural backgrounds, training and experience
