    Collin County is seeking candidates to fill the position of Volunteer Coordinator.

    This position is responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising animal shelter volunteers, forming working relationships with rescue and foster organizations, and acting as a liaison between animal shelter staff and volunteers.

    Plans, develops, and publicizes programs for use of volunteers in an effort to increase the number of animals adopted in the community.

    Coordinates adoption events and animal services programs in the community. Determines volunteer service requirements and coordinates with available volunteer resources.

    Other responsibilities include documenting program activities, monitoring and evaluating program outcomes, and writing grants and securing funds for volunteer program.

    High school diploma or equivalency and bachelor's degree required, or an equivalent combination of education/experience. Valid Texas Driver's License required. Three to five years of relevant work experience in volunteer-related public relations or marketing/outreach experience required. Two years of experience may be substituted for every one year of college education.
