    Description


    The Tax Associate I is responsible for interacting with real estate taxing authorities, vendors, and other internal and external customers.

    Essential Job Functions (Duties/Responsibilities)

    The Tax Associate I will have the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

    Provide additional support in monitoring tax reporting, tax shortages and borrower reach out for escrowed tax items
    Follow up with tax service with outstanding tax bills
    Monitor contract status of new loans
    Importing/exporting of tax import files
    Monitor payment processing concerns, paid in full loans and payoff alerts for upcoming payment areas
    Process paid in full loans
    Verify payment of taxes collected/paid at closing
    Tax bill inquires to customers
    New loan setups
    Review tax contract setups
    Help oversee and complete all audits/reviews
    Assist with maintenance of daily tax reports
    Provide support to resolve tax related borrower inquiries
    Review, route, and process all task, mail, email, or phone inquires received
    Advise borrower of change of assessment notices received
    Identify and communicate tax related issues and trends
    Request tax information from internal and external customers and vendors

    Qualifications

    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent work experience preferred.


    Experience: 1+ of experience in finance, accounting, or related field; previous experience in mortgage servicing, real estate tax or escrow are a plus.


    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    Basic Microsoft Office skills
    Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
    Strong organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
    Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines

    None

    Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. offers a competitive base salary and discretionary bonus. The starting base salary range for this position is $45,000 to $50,000.

    The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates' qualifications at the time of hire.

    Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the course of the year.

    The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
