    $5,000 Sign on Bonus

    The ultrasound technologist performs ultrasound procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner.

    Will perform direct patient care in a compassionate and timely manner.

    Under the direction of Radiology leadership, the Ultrasound tech performs duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures in the use of ultrasound for the diagnosis of disease or pathology.

    monitors condition of patient and medical equipment that may be disturbed due to the nature of exam and report changes to patient care services
    Documents sonographer's impressions and relays findings to physician
    documents all pertinent information, e.g.

    , demonstrates and maintains clinical competency particularly related to patients who are:
    newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric as deemed necessary by designated facility
    Participates in performance improvement projects
    Assists department in achieving successful results in all federal and state and local agency audits.
    Participates in the education/instruction of students and the orientation of new staff. -Must use various ultrasound modalities dependent on the type of anatomy being examined.
    Demonstrates favorable guest relations and continues to promote values of the hospital in daily work performance.
    Credentialed in Ultrasound technology by one of the following: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (required)
    Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/Gynecology (preferred)
    Associates, America Medical Association (AMA) allied health training program in Ultrasound (preferred)
    Work Experience
    1 year experience as an Ultrasound Tech (preferred)
    Training
    EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
    Examines data
    draws logical conclusions
    Makes decisions which have significant impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside immediate work unit.
    flexible and able to adapt to change.
    SDMS Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice for Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals
    May be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials
    General office environment
    Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions
