HUPs Central Fill Specialty Pharmacy located on S 76th Street in Philadelphia Looking for a pharmacy technician to assist our operations team full time day shift Monday Friday Summary The Ambulatory Pharmacy Technician is responsible for processing prescriptions for patients and their families in the clinic setting The Pharmacy Technician will collect medication histories fill scripts and coordinate payments in conjunction with pharmacist direction This pharmacy technician will work with the Operations team to help prepare and dispense medications including counting labeling and packing medications Technicians will also assist with day-to-day maintenance tasks unpacking medication deliveries and receiving supply orders Responsibilities Determines patient insurance requirements for pre-certification patient payments and coverage limitation and the necessary action(s) prior to discharge Maintains communication with ambulatory based clinical pharmacist social worker discharge specialty pharmacy program team members as needed to obtain complete accurate financial information required for claim adjudication Immediately communicates any issue with coverage to the clinical practice to determine the appropriate next steps Communicates benefit investigation information proactively to the clinical practices patients Supports all myPennPharmacy services as needed Collaborates with internal team members to gather appropriate paperwork prescription billing information or prescriptions Provides follow-up relating to communication of pharmaceutical needs additional eligibility information which ensures ongoing access Interacts medical staff designees obtain complete accurate timely clinical financial payer reimbursement information Educates regarding related patient insurance coverage at discharge mediations Credentials Certified Pharmacy Technician Required Education Equivalent Experience High school diploma GED Required At least one year retail pharmacy experience preferred When applying this position please upload current certification We believe employees best care starts healthy life Our employee benefit programs get stay healthy Comprehensive compensation benefits program prepaid tuition assistance region Penn Medicine employees actively engaged committed mission Together continue make advances people live longer healthier lives Live Your Life Work We Equal Opportunity employer Candidates consideration employment race ethnicity color sex orientation gender identity religion national origin ancestry age disability marital status familial status genetic domestic sexual victim military veteran protected by applicable law.
