    Summary:

    As an Outside Sales Representative at Race Communications, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base and driving revenue growth. Your primary responsibility will be to proactively engage potential customers through direct interactions in their homes and communities. You will serve as the face of Race Communications, creating meaningful connections with individuals and effectively conveying the exceptional value of our products and services to secure their business.

    This individual should be able to communicate and work effectively with external service representatives and internal team members who possess a wide variety of backgrounds, personalities, and communication skills. This individual should be able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment while maintaining a productive professional demeanor. This individual must be capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively with other Race team members across teams and levels of our organization.

    Qualifications and Experience:

  • Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years
  • Preferred high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Preferred associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Required experience of at least one year as an Inside Sales Representative or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred working knowledge of CRM systems and practices
  • Proven track record of successful customer relationship management
  • Ability to travel moderate distances periodically to attend sales events
  • Preferred possession of a valid CA Basic Class C driver's license
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish is desirable
  • Skills:

  • Ability to listen, address questions and customer complaints, and providing timely solutions
  • Proficient use of MS Office tools (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) and iPad for taking orders
  • Functional use of common office equipment, computers, and office software

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Sales Outreach and Customer Engagement:

  • Sources new sales opportunities through door-to-door education of Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television services
  • Identifies, assesses, and understands customer needs and requirements to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Identifies potential sales opportunities, and generates interest and sales opportunities
  • Builds relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication (listening)
  • Sales Goals and Performance:

  • Meets or exceeds monthly sales goals set by you and your manager
  • Manages creation and presentation of quotations for opportunities as they are identified
  • Generates new business and promotes growth of Race products
  • Product Knowledge and Customer Service:

  • Gains and retains extensive product knowledge as well as detailed comprehension of customer's requirements for Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television products
  • Provides accurate, valid, and complete information when using our CRM and other software as provided
  • Documentation and Compliance:

  • Keeps detailed records of customer interactions, processes customer accounts, and files documents
  • Follows sales team procedures and guidelines, along with policies outlined in the Race Communications Employee Handbook
  • Sales Campaigns and Events:

  • Participates in sales and marketing campaigns and attends outside events (travel required)
  • Travel and Working Conditions:

  • Works and travels to other service locations throughout CA and beyond in inclement weather
  • Spends time in a vehicle daily, outside or inside Race clients' businesses or residents
  • Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required
  • Other duties as necessary may include but are not limited to:

  • Successfully complete assigned training and examinations, as well as participate in ongoing performance and development reviews, and goal setting
  • Be available to participate in internal or external meetings, special functions, and professional development opportunities
  • Cross-train and share knowledge with other team members
  • Support routine tasks

    All new employees will participate in the mandatory 'Speedway to Success' (Speedway) orientation at one our offices located in either Tehachapi, CA, Yuba City, Chico, CA, or South San Francisco, CA. The duration of the Speedway program spans from 1-3 weeks, depending on the position. During Speedway the schedule will vary: 8-hour days are planned, but shorter days may occur depending on the group's pace. Applicants further than 50 miles from these training locations will be provided with necessary travel accommodations as part of the onboarding process. Applicants 50 miles or less from these locations will be considered regular commute. For those working remotely, virtual attendance will depend on position requirements.
