We continue to succeed due to the passion, focus, and expertise of our people, and now need a full-time technician to join our systems installation team based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Job Summary:
Performs bench service, repair, and maintenance of electronic toll collection equipment installed throughout the regional service area.
This job may include any aspect of electronic troubleshooting and repair of electronic equipment, systems, and wiring; upgrades, modifications, programming; preventive maintenance actions; documentation.
Work hours will include standard dayshift.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Preventive, and corrective maintenance of toll collection equipment to include in-lane roadway sensors, axle counters; loop detectors; lane controllers (blades, servers, & PC hardware); Violation Enforcement System; power supplies; digital video surveillance equipment; network components (routers, switches, cabling)
Completes reports, logs, and performs shift-to-shift communications in accordance with established policies, procedures and local practicesDiagnoses, identifies and repair/replace hardware assemblies and/or componentsReports technical status of system with accuracy and completenessMaintenance of spare equipment and parts including inventory managementModule or PC Board swap outIsolation of faults in units or componentsElectronic filing of work ordersRequired Education, Skills & Experience:
High School or GED minimum, Certificate program or Associates in electronics/electrical engineering preferredA+ Certification desiredPrior working experience in electronics maintenance or field repair a plusSolid soldering skillsDemonstrated working knowledge of computer software: MS-DOS, WinNT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Perl, Oracle, QNXFundamental electrical/mechanical knowledgePrior electronic bench repair experience a plusFiber-optic connections and splicing experience a plusAbility to diagnose system problems using a voltmeterAbility to bend, squat, crawl, reach and maneuver in tight spaces both underground and above ground via bucket truckAbility to lift/carry up to 70 pounds occasionallyGood writing, communication, mechanical, and computer skillsMust maintain drivers license in good standing as verified by TransCoreDriving record must be free of DUI/DWI for three-year period prior to employment
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
