    Position Summary


    The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Morehouse School of Medicine seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychiatry who is board-certified or board-eligible in General and Forensic Psychiatry.

    The successful candidate should be community-oriented with a demonstrated interest in and commitment to advancing mental health equity through clinical care, education, and scholarship, as well as experience in telepsychiatry.

    This position will provide forensic evaluation services to a U.S. territory. The appointment will also include medical student teaching.


    General Responsibilities:
    Evaluate and generate forensic mental health reports.

    Engage in teaching, scholarship, and clinical service in psychiatry and behavioral sciences consistent with the department's needs and the faculty member's interests.

    Participate in select department administrative duties such as serving on UME and/or GME and/or institutional committees.

    Minimum Qualifications

    MD degree

    Georgia Medical License

    Board Certification in Psychiatry Board Certification/Board Eligible in Forensic

    Strong interpersonal, forensic evaluation and report writing, and professional skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    Board Certified in Forensic Psychiatry

    Specific Position Details:
    Perform forensic mental health evaluations and write forensic psychiatric reports.

    Serve on department, institutional, and community-based committees

    Contribution to scholarly activities

    Teach medical students and/or residents

    Participation in faculty development programs

    It is MSM's Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment.

    If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption.

    Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate's offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
