    IBT Media, a global digital media company operating out of New York City, is hiring a Head of Audience Development to partner with the company's portfolio of digital media properties.

    The Head of Audience Development will help drive organic growth, search equity, and overall visibility on search engines, connect the IBT Media portfolio with distribution platforms, and develop the company's newsletter's strategy.

    Job Overview:

    As the Head of Audience Development, this person will play a pivotal role in shaping our digital content strategy and optimizing both our in-article content and site infrastructure for search engines with the end goal of significant audience development. This person will work closely with editors, content creators, and developers to enhance the SERP ranking on articles and overall search equity for a variety of sites within the IBT portfolio of media publications covering business, sports, tech, science, music, and global news.

    Responsibilities:

    • SEO Infrastructure: Oversee technical audits of site infrastructure and collaborate with developers to implement SEO recommendations, ensuring site health and performance.
    • SEO Keyword Research: Conduct thorough research to identify high-value keywords, relevant trends to target, underserved topics, and regional traffic opportunities.
    • On-Page Optimization: Optimize on-page elements, including meta tags, headings, content, and site structure for improved search engine rankings.
    • Article Optimization: Collaborate with content creators to optimize the in-article headlines, URLs, section headers, teasers, and body copy.
    • Link Building: Develop and execute link-building strategies to improve domain authority and enhance backlink profile.
    • Competitor Analysis: Monitor and analyze competitor SEO strategies and SERP rankings to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Newsletter Strategy: Developing the number of Newsletter subscribers per brand.
    • Distributor Partnerships: Develop new relationships for each media brand within the company, with distribution referral apps and portals, such as NewsBreak, Apple News, Google News, Flipboard, Yahoo, MSN, etc.
    • Analytics Reporting: Utilize SEO tools like SEMRush, Ahrefs, Google Trends, and Google Analytics to track and report on key performance metrics, including audience demographics, providing actionable insights for continuous audience development.

    Qualifications:

    • At least 5 years of Audience Development or SEO experience in news/journalism, digital media, or publishing with a successful track record of driving organic traffic growth and successful SEO strategy implementation for a media publication.
    • Degree in Digital Marketing, Journalism, Media, Communications, or a related field preferred.
    • In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices in digital media, ranking factors, search engine algorithms, technical SEO, and media industry trends.
    • Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs or Moz.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
