Job DescriptionThe TechnologistResponsibilitiesAssists in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies. Sets up and adjusts equipment per radiologist protocol for exam. Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department. Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts. Receives and reviews requests for MRI's. Accepts patients and assess' their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Explains and prepares the patient for all MRI procedures. Possesses and utilizes proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when appropriate.
Assists in the administration and administers various medications under the direction of a physician in order to render specific organs or systems more opaque.
Performs all responsibilities / duties required by the MR department to perform examinations. Assists with examination of higher complexity such as MR-guided biopsies, needle localizations etc. Quality controls all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel, including students.Performs work of equal skill, effort, and responsibility as directed and may perform work of a higher level in preparation for increased responsibility.
