    Responsibilities:

    Essential Duties:

    • Model a service attitude towards others, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients, visitors, and co-workers
    • Take ownership in solving problems and take the initiative to make things better
    • Ensure resident, patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazard
    • Maintain good attendance record
    • Provide resident therapy treatments as directed by the Occupational Therapist
    • Document treatment and progress notes and other clinical work in the medical record per departmental policy and procedure
    • Provide resident, family and staff education pertaining to Occupational Therapy modalities to ensure understanding and proficiency of care
    • Demonstrate good clinical judgment in all aspects of resident treatments in which trained to provide
    • Screen residents to determine their potential benefit from Occupational Therapy intervention and communicate need for intervention to Occupational Therapist
    • Develop, direct and/or participate in Occupational Therapy programming for the residents
    • Attend in-services and other meetings as required on an ongoing basis
    • Maintain continuing education per state licensure requirements
    • Other duties as assigned by the Occupational Therapist and Director of Rehab
    Qualifications:

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Texas
    • Knowledge of therapy industry and federal, state, and local government regulations
    • Demonstrate ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
    • Demonstrate efficiency strategies for fast paced environment
    • Experience in SNF/LTC/IL/AL/OP setting or mature population rehabilitation and wellness needs
    • Experience with PDPM treatment and reimbursement policy
    • Basic computer skills, Outlook, Word, Excel
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, persons with disabilities and hospice patients
    • Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements
    • Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities
    • Ability to perform Essential Duties
    • Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures
