    Posting Summary


    As Lead Student Financial Services Counselor, this position is responsible for supporting, orienting and mentoring new and current counseling staff.

    This includes observing and assisting in the assessment of counseling staff, as well as developing and administering training plans. Lead projects for improvement and efficiency, offering problem-solving solutions.

    Serves as the primary liaison for various colleges when they identify students struggling financially, individually responsible for developing options and solutions as appropriate.

    Provide comprehensive services and support to students and families in managing their University finances. Engage in activities that enhance recruitment, retention and success of the student body.

    Administer financial aid and student receivables programs in compliance with applicable Federal, State and institutional laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

    Develop and oversee activities in support of specialized programs or student cohorts. Assist in the research and review of regulations, polices and process assessments.

    Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and two to four years of experience in Federal financial aid administration required. Proven effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to navigate difficult and emotional interactions with students and parents regarding personal financial challenges. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging presentations to both large and small groups. Proven ability to exercise independent judgment. Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic team and in a fast-paced environment required.

    Desirable Qualifications

    Previous experience working in higher education institutions. Familiarity with student information systems. Background in student services, showcasing a deep understanding of student needs and support systems. Experience or knowledge in Federal income tax preparation.
